Would your child benefit from a structured adolescent start-up gym program?
Let’s get adolescents and teens started in the gym with a structured program.
As a parent, you want the best for your child. To stay active, move well and be healthy throughout their life.
Or if they play sports, you want them to be the best they can be, make the top teams and win the most championships.
We all know one of the best ways that we can invest in ourselves is to have a structured exercise program that we stick to consistently.
But getting started can be intimidating, especially for somebody with little to no gym experience, so where do you start?

The power of a strong gym startup
At PFC, we run supervised classes led by expert physiotherapists. These sessions are designed to teach your child safe lifting techniques and proper movement patterns for athletic performance, strength, fitness and lifelong wellbeing.
Will lifting weights stunt their growth? Are they moving correctly? Will they hurt themselves? All of these questions are exactly why our start-up program is so valuable.
By mastering the fundamentals now, your child will develop the skills and self assurance to start their gym, health and fitness career the right way.
Why structured physiotherapy sessions make all the difference
Our startup program isn’t just about exercise; it’s about building a long-lasting relationship with the gym that will set up your child for life.
Learn safe lifting techniques from the start
Lifting weights is not only safe, but incredibly effective for kids when done correctly. But improper form, going too heavy or progressing too quickly can be detrimental to development.
Develop proper movement patterns
Any new skill is difficult to master at first, without ever being taught how to move properly, kids can lack the coordination or understanding of how their body is moving in space(proprioception). Without proper supervision, bad movement patterns can develop into bad habits that can be tricky to undo. This can be avoided with proper coaching on technique right off the bat.
Build confidence in a supportive environment
The gym can be intimidating, especially for kids starting out. Our structured sessions are fun with an encouraging atmosphere, perfect for having your child feel supported every step of the way. They will gain the confidence required to start their gym career on the right foot. They will learn to approach fitness with a positive mindset, celebrating wins as they continue to progress.
This confidence spills over into other areas of life, empowering them to tackle challenges with determination.
Prevent injuries
Injuries happen, especially when pushing too hard, too soon. Our Physio-led approach ensures your child trains smart, with exercises designed to strengthen muscles, stabilise joints and improve flexibility.
When hitting the field of their chosen sport – Their bodies will be better able to handle the load of quick changes of directions, bumps, hits and other forces that would ordinarily end with injury by building up their robustness in the gym.
What they’ll learn: Warm-up routines, mobility and recovery tips, how to look after their bodies outside of game-day’s and team / individual training.
Spark a lifelong love of fitness
Our goal isn’t just to get your child performing at their best. We want to inspire them to have a lifelong passion for staying fit, strong and healthy. Making fitness fun and approachable helps kids see the gym as a place for growth and opportunity, not intimidation.
What you and your child should expect
Personalised assessments tailored for their individual needs: If it’s for a specific sport, or just looking for an introduction to the gym for general fitness and wellbeing. We will provide a movement and strength assessment to understand your child’s needs and goals.
Supervised classes: Small group sessions with a maximum of 1:5 ratio with our highly trained Physiotherapists.
Education and support: We teach kids (and parents) about safe lifting, recovery and the importance of consistency in fitness.
