Q. Can I claim my massage on my Private Health Insurance?

A. Yes, as we have trained myotherapists and remedial therapists treating you, the massages are claimable via Private Health Insurance. However, it’s important to know whether your Private Health Insurance will cover the cost of a massage. The short answer is yes, it may. It’s a good idea to contact them to confirm it’s covered, and read your policy to understand the limits of your cover. If you want to be certain you’re covered, you can add in Natural Therapies into your extras on top of your regular Private Health Insurance benefit.

A 2011 systematic review suggested that at least 50% of women will suffer lower back pain during their pregnancy.

With all the changes happening in your body, it’s not unusual to feel sore through the lower back, hips, shoulders and neck. This plus everything else going on during pregnancy can lead to poor sleep quality and increased discomfort.

No need to worry, we are here to help!

Massage can help to;
+ Ease muscular discomfort
+ Improve sleep quality
+ Aid relaxation

Our team of myo’s are trained in pregnancy massage and have pregnancy pillows to support your body to lay comfortably at each stage through your pregnancy.

Q. What is dry needling?

A. Myofascial Dry Needling involves the insertion of a thin filament needle into either muscle tissue or superficially into the surrounding fascia (connective tissue). MDN can be used to deactivate myofascial trigger points (TrPs) and relieve associated pain. Dry needling should not cause pain, many patients don’t even notice the needles in the area when they are being treated.

Q. What is a remedial massage?

A. Rather than a massage for relaxation purposes, typically, it is used to help people recover after an injury. In some cases, it may be used to treat tension headaches, muscle aches and pains, and even arthritis. The right therapist can be a great resource if you often have sore muscles or have relapses of an injury. A remedial massage can improve flexibility, bring blood flow to the sore area and decrease inflammation.

Q. What is cupping?

A. Cupping is often conducted by a remedial therapist. Is a form of therapy that has been known to treat a wide range of illnesses from arthritis, back pain, and muscle tightness. Cupping can be used to enhance your health by improving your blood circulation and stimulating blood flow, making it a popular treatment. In cupping, cups are applied to the skin to create suction, which brings blood to the area. The cups are applied for a small amount of time and don’t hurt,  when removed they sometimes leave bruising. The suction cup can assist in relieving tightness of fascial tissue. This can be a passive or active treatment alongside stretching.
